Izumiotsu City

Situated in southerly central Osaka, the city, one of the Osaka Bay (seaside) cities group, has good access from downtown Osaka (20km southwestward) and from Kansai International Airport (15km northeastward). This city has panoramic views of distant Mt.Rokko and Awaji Island. Since olden times, Izumiotsu prospered as the port of Izumi Province and was famous as a scenic place known as ‘Ozu no Tomari’ or ‘Otsu no Ura’ in the classics of essays and travel. This city was founded on April 1, 1942 (Osaka’s 7th city). The city boasts the nation’s largest blanket and knitwear production.
