Sakai City Tea House

Shin-an, a teahouse, was built in 1929 by OGI Rodo, a famed master architect of the Sukiya-style. Shin-an was originally built in Shiba Park, Tokyo. It was donated to Sakai City in 1980, and reconstructed in the present location. The two-storied elegant house has ten Japanese-style rooms, including an old tea room appropriate for holding a large tea ceremony.
