Oriamu Museum |
|

|
| Izumiotsu City enjoys 98% of domestic blanket
production today. This Oriamu Museum (i.e. Weaving-Knitting
Museum) exhibits not only the history and technical development
of blanket production but also various textiles and ethnic
costumes from all over the world. Present blanket manufacturing
techniques originate from Sanada-ori weaving, a developed
form of Senshu cotton which was popular in the Edo Period. |
