Kuboso Memorial Museum of Arts, Izumi


The museum houses around 500 pieces of Japanese and Chinese artworks collected (and later donated) by three generations of KUBO Sotaro's family. The museum also owns approximately 3,500 precious artworks including 2 National Treasures and 28 Important Cultural Assets. Among them is 'Koboku-Meigeki-Zu'(I.C.A) by the legendary swordsman MIYAMOTO Musashi, which can only be seen during special exhibitions in spring. On a premises are sukiya-style buildings, a Japanese garden and valuable teahouses such as 'Sou-an' and 'Cho-sen Tei' copied from 'Omote Senke Fushin-an' and 'Zangetsu Tei'.
