Kishiwada Castle |
|

|
| The origin of the castle goes back to the
early 14th century, when KUSUNOKI Masashige(1294-1335) had
his clansman WADA Takaie construct a fort. The 1st and the
2nd floor of the three-layered donjon which was restored
in 1954, and one of the turrets are used as the municipal
data room, the function of which is to collect, exhibit and
house local materials of historical, artistic and folkloristic
interest. The scenery of 'Hachi-jin no Niwa' (literally a
garden of eight positions) Garden which was designed by an
authoritative garden designer SHIGEMORI Reizo is really attractive.
The castle is lit up all year round. |
