Kaie-ji Buddhist Temple Site/Archaeological Museum

The site of a giant archaic Temple built in the Hakuho Period (about 1,350 years ago), one of the most precious relics in Osaka. The site is, so to speak, a treasury of historical data, where we can learn about the aspect of an ancient constitutional form of government modeled after that of China (Tang). The site was designated National Historical Site in 1987. The articles excavated from this site were designated as an important cultural asset in 1995. They can be seen at the next door Archaeological Museum.
